Inspiration
September 12, 2011
Yesterday I was at my sister and brother in laws house and I happen to walk into their bedroom to find my niece on their bed making bracelets out of small colorful beads and string. It really caught my attention, so I stopped and observed as she carefully put a small string inside each bead to create a colorful piece to be worn around her wrist. My curiosity led me to ask her why she was not selling these. She then replied, “Where would I sell them?” I then explained to her that she could sell these bracelets by simply wearing them and when her friends ask about them she could say, “I’ll make you one in the color of your choice .” She sat there thinking about what I said and I left her with that thought.
Later that night I was checking my Facebook page and found this picture on my brother in law’s profile.
This excited me so much! We never know who we will inspire if we just stop to share the little we know.
Abeni, go get them! They’re waiting for you.
I’m human
September 8, 2011
Last night I was checking my email before going to bed and I ran into an email from a 14 yr old boy who is wanting to start his own clothing company. To be honest, it’s been a while since I’ve received an email asking for advice, and as I sat there reading this email I realized what a blessing it is to share what I’ve learned. There are tons of other companies who have had greater success in terms of money and sales, and my initial reaction is to want to pass along emails like these to those companies, but I realized that God has done some amazing things through Aphesis, and I will always share those amazing experiences.
There are days where I realize that I’m still a human being. In these days I struggle with thoughts of, “God, why am I still doing Aphesis? What is the purpose of this company? Why do I hold on to something that seems impossible at times? Am I making the right decisions?” To this day I don’t have the answer to every one of these questions, I just know that God wants to use Aphesis today, and I work on making today my focus.
To be honest, I don’t know how long Aphesis will be a part of my life, or if I’ll ever get to a point where I feel like it’s time to let it go, but I hang on to the promises of God for this season of my life, and for the future. I trust that He will guide me every step of the way.
Moses Uvere
September 2, 2011
As time has passed and life has changed, I’ve lost contact with many of my old high school and college friends. Not because of a fight or anything dramatic, but life just has a way of changing. To this day I can count with one hand who I consider my closest friends, and Moses Uvere is one of them. Known for his incredible live performances and creative writing, Moses Uvere released his second album this year in April.
Moses has been a huge support for Aphesis, and I’m honored to announce that he’s hooked me up with a few copies of his new album to include in every order of The World Through Your Eyes (while supplies last)
So make your way over to our online store and place your order to get your free copy of the new Moses Uvere album.

You are what you eat
August 24, 2011
One of the things I enjoy sharing on this blog are things that have been on my heart. As much as I enjoy sharing about Aphesis, I enjoy even more sharing things that may impact someone’s day. Besides, ultimately that’s what Aphesis is about, impacting someone’s day through the message of a shirt.
This morning I started my day off by exercising, praying and handing the day over to God. I realized that when I am feeding myself the right things, both in the spiritual, and in the physical, I am the most focused. It’s great to look over our lives every now and then and question what it is that we are feeding ourselves. I’ve always said that if you want to see an area of your life get stronger, surround yourself with people and things that will help you feed that area. For example, if you’re wanting to accomplish great things in life, whether it’s finishing school, or starting your own business, then surround yourself with people who will encourage you, motivate you, inspire you, and challenge you.
They say that you are what you eat, and when you think about it that is so true. The person you are today is due to what you’ve allowed yourself to be fed.
I don’t know why I’m sharing this, or who may need it, but I hope that it somehow impacts your day.

1st Family Vacation
August 17, 2011
This past weekend my wife, my two girls, and I packed up and headed to San Antonio, Tx for our first family vacation at Sea World. With this being my first time at Sea World, I was too busy having fun to take tons of pics, but here are a few I took with my phone.
It’s interesting how much vacations change when you have kids. It’s a whole different kind of fun because they are the priority in making sure fun is being had. For that reason we spent some quality time with Elmo and his homies.
It’s important to make plans to take vacations with your family. Whether you have kids or not, married or not, parents or not, whoever you consider family, cherish your time with them. It goes by too fast.
