Man Up Dallas (recap)

October 17, 2011

First of all I want to apologize for two things. #1, for the quality of my pics. I’m praying I’m able to get a hold of a new camera, with better quality. #2, for the lack of event pics. I didn’t really have time to fully enjoy the event being that I was at my booth most of the time. I was fortunate to have amazing help from my good friend’s Moses and Juan, so I was able to sneak in here and there.

So really the only pics I was able to take were of some improvements I’ve made with my booth set up. Enjoy!

One of the things that makes Aphesis stand out is the fact that each shirt carries a meaning. So now I run with that in mind and make it available for people to stop and read what each shirt means.

Big shout out to my co-workers Carolyn and Brittany for helping me put together these thought bubbles.

Can you find the small mistake my wife and I made on this board? Didn’t notice it till later. Whoops!

Here is the only pic I was able to take the one time I snuck in. 4,000 people!!!

The event definitely was life changing for many people. We showed up at around 3:30pm, and there were people already lined up outside waiting for 5:30 to come around. The event kicked off with a premier of the new Man Up movie, followed by a concert that had everyone going bazurk!!(is that you spell that word?) The whole event was an incredible experience, and it was awesome to be able to see the amazing things God is continuing to do through Reach Records.

Big thanks to those of you who purchased a shirt, stopped by to talk to me, and allowed me the opportunity to pray with you. Please follow Aphesis on Facebook to stay updated on what’s going on.

As many of you know from a past blog post(read it here), one of the companies that has inspired and influenced Aphesis, is a company by the name of Modern Amusement.

I’m so excited to announce that Modern Amusement is back, and back with a BANG! They just released their Fall 2011 line on their site, and I feel like a kid in a store full of my favorite candy.

Head on over to www.modernamusement.com and give them a warm welcome back by grabbing some of their amazing Fall pieces.

The response to the release of The World Through Your Eyes has been refreshing. I tell ya, when you’re selling the same stuff for two years, as great as it is, you get to a point where you’re so anxious to release something new, but everything has it’s time.

It’s always awesome to see people get excited about the things you work so hard on, and Seth is one of those people. You might remember that last year Seth found out about Aphesis while driving on the hwy and seeing me driving in the Aphesismobile. He immediately sent me an email, and shortly after we met up for the purchase of a few Aphesis shirts. Yesterday we met again at a near by gas station for the purchase of The World Through Your Eyes.

Huge thanks to Seth for continuing to show love to Aphesis. Make sure you don’t miss out on getting a hold of an awesome shirt! Only 50 have been printed! Get one now! Click here

One more day!!

July 7, 2011

I can’t believe we are only hours away from the release of The World Through Your Eyes. I can confidently say that any one who purchases a new Aphesis shirt will be very pleased with the changes and revamping. It’s taken me two years to release  something new, and while some may consider it a delay, I consider it a time to perfect. The World Through Your Eyes will be released tonight at midnight, so drink some coffee, energy drink, or soda, and make sure you get a hold of your size, as only 50 will be printed. Also, a reminder that each shirt will include a small envelope with a collectible inspiration card inside that gives a short description of my inspiration behind this design.

Here’s a short video I filmed with Rebekah Hudson for the release of “The World Through Your Eyes.”

A few weeks back I felt a burden for the people of Japan and contributed a portion of all sales for two weeks to help those affected by this tragedy. I want to thank those of you who were a part of that.

Live it up

June 30, 2011

A few weeks ago I was contacted by a wonderful lady named Liana regarding wanting to purchase a few shirts for her church’s youth group. After working out all the details, I was able to put together a fairly large order for them.

Two days ago I was tagged on a few pics of their youth group rockin Aphesis very well!

Liana informed me that they wore their shirts while volunteering to serve 400 homeless people in the Dallas area. She said people would ask what Aphesis meant and when people heard the meaning they would smile. It’s amazing to see God taking the message of Aphesis to people I may never meet, which is part of my vision for Aphesis.

Big thanks to Liana and Live it up from RCC in Arlington! Also, just a reminder to everyone about the new Aphesis design being released next Friday! Yuhhh!!! And if you have not liked Aphesis on Facebook, do it here.

As I’m getting ready to release this new design next week on July 8th, this statement could not be any truer.

When pressure comes at you you have two choices, let it push you against the wall until you’re dead, or you snap out of it and push back. I’ve chosen to push back.

This Friday I got together with my good friend Dustin Cavazos. After revealing the new Aphesis design to him, we hit up Padrinos in Oak Cliff off Davis in the Bishop Arts District. Dustin has been claiming that they have the best chicken tacos, and…he was right. They truly were the best chicken tacos I’ve tasted.  Very well seasoned and grilled to perfection. It was like a childhood summer/never-ending rollercoaster/Dick Tracy’s watch/perfect chicken, all in one taco. What I’m trying to say is that they were incredible.

Check out the new Aphesis design “The World Through Your Eyes” coming July 8, featured on www.dustincavazos.com. And go out and buy Dustin’s new album. It’s amazing! It really is.

On July 2nd of 2010 I recorded on my phone a powerful message that God had been dealing with me on. It was on this day that I realized how self consumed I had been. Everything had become about me. My goals, my dreams, my priorities, my desires, my problems, my obstacles, my failures, and so on. I remember feeling as though I felt so far away from what I was created to do. It was then that I recorded these simple words, “The world through your eyes.” It was like my eyes were literally opened and I was able to see what I had been missing for quite some time. I was able to see that life is not all about me, and there were needs around me that I could actually be used to meet. I also realized that my purpose was greater than being a good husband, father, or even Aphesis. My purpose was about people. What could God do through me if I submitted my plans under His and began to look through His eyes? And out of this powerful message was birthed, “The World Through Your Eyes.”

NOTE: This is an image for printed posters ,cards, and stickers. Shirt has been printed in black ink on creme colored American Apparel shirt.

It has been a challenge to release this design. From financial issues, to design issues, to communication issues, you name it, it happened. Non the less, God is good and I’m excited to anounce that on July 8th(my birthday!) I will be releasing “The World Through Your Eyes” through the Aphesis online store.  A limited run of only 50 will be printed with some sizes printed with less than 10, so don’t sleep on getting your size!! Each shirt will be sold at $25 and will include a small envelope with a collectible  inspiration card inside that will give a short description of my inspiration behind this design.

Big thanks to everyone who has supported Aphesis from the beginning and those of you who have shown your support in these last few years.

Please check back next week for detailed pics as well as a video that will go into depth on the meaning behind every small piece of this design.
