Modern Amusement

March 10, 2011

One of the very first boutiques that ever carried Aphesis was a boutique called Shoe Gypsy, in Ft. Worth. It was at this boutique that I was first introduced to California-based brand Modern Amusement. As I examined every piece of their line, I immediately fell in love with them because of their attention to detail, the quality of their garments, and their color combinations.

Immediately after I got home that day I looked them up and shot an email to a contact person on their site, expressing my appreciation for the brand. Shortly after I received a reply thanking me for my kind words and asking for my address.

In a matter of days I received a package in the mail that included a thank you note, some very nice pins with their famous crow logo, some super awesome purple socks, that I still wear to this day, and a super solid key chain.

This act of kindness stuck with me and really helped me understand the art of making an impression on someone. To this day I try to apply what I learned through MA that day.

This story doesn’t have a happy ending though.  MA ceased its operations early last year. Read about it here.

Although the company has ceased its operations, MA continues to inspire Aphesis to this day. Pourin out some Kool-Aid for ya, MA.
